I think it's safe to say,

That Uniqlo is my favorite store, I guess it makes sense, my personal style has always had the mix of eastern and western Uniqlo seems to offer. Their Spring Summer collection of T-shirts is pretty great this go round. (via UT Mega Culture) This year it's Japan Game, a collaboration with Puffy AMIYUMI, a few TATSUNOKO shirts (creator of GATCHAMAN or Battle of the Planets via the US) and much more.

(awesome Tower of Duraga shirt)

The other reason I love Uniqlo is because of the fact that I'm an all around cold person, and Uniqlo has HEATTECH, which is a Japanese thermo technology I guess, that turns body moisture into heat. Good for the winter no? Anyway HEATTECH is pretty sweet, and has special qualities to both the mail and the female versions. For men, HEATTECH absorbs moisture and diffuses it faster (Because they generally sweat more). For Women, HEATTECH fibers are mad up of rayon fused with milk protein (sorry vegans) to give it an ultra soft feel. All of this is explained somewhere in here... accompanied by super cool music of course

Thanks Uniqlo for providing me great clothes for low prices! :D

health bhi wealth bhi and bagels are your friend.

(cross-posted at vegan party in your mouth where i blog about everything vegan and food and my journey of veganism)

this is indian and means if there is health, there is also wealth. metaphorical, you knows?
so i am currently in a state of transition to veganism, is so fun. i ordered a whole bunch of cookbooks and who knows there is so freaking much to eat even though is no animal byproducts? so funnnnnnnn. :D so, in order to uphold this worthy mission, i decided to bake something delicious and vegan, in honour of mama's day (which mike just taught me about). so i decided to try something called bagels, i think they are from america, cause i have never heard of them. they're fantastic and easy to make and you can study for psych while they are chilling to grow which takes up quite a lot of time (2 hours in total), so be prepared for that. but to compensate you probably already have all of the ingredients, and if not, they are very cheap. much cheaper than buying the bagels. here we go :D

lyra's vegan bagles 4 u . com
25 g of yeast
250 g + 250 g of wheat flour. i will explain the whole + thing do not worry friend!
3 decilitres of lukewarm water.
soya milk for brushing on.
one teaspoon of sugar
one eating spoon with oil
one eating spoon with salt.

on ingredients: it is more healthy if you use whole wheat flour. also it is best if you test if the water is really truly madly deeply lukewarm with your little finger, it is a very accurate finger. instead of soya milk you can also use milk or egg but that wouldn't be vegan OR fun. so don't :) it won't make a difference with taste, only with looks. they will be matte. soya milk makes them shiny. also for salt, use hopefully not the very tiny refined salt but the salt where there is different sizes and it's all a little more raw and let's face it, fun.

this is how you will make your bagels, and they will be really good. the recipe is only for 10 but i like to make 30 at once so i have for the rest of the week.

take a big bowl for mixing all the ingredients. the plastic ones are easier to wash. put in the water and crumble the yeast with your fingers. this is my favourite part! you get to crumble it down into the water and it should look like crumbly cheese kind of. put in oil and salt.
put in your first 250 g of wheat flour while stirring the mix. now you should be able to knead it on your table. try to do that while you are adding the second round of wheat flour. is sound weird but it makes such a difference. you can knead your bread for however long you like, but i always do it 300 times to ensure maximum good vibes.
now put your silky smooth dough back into your mixing bowl and put some cloth over it and let it raise itself / chill for 1 hour and 30 minutes. some people go to the gym, some talk on the phone, some blog, some go shopping at american apparel. i did psychology homework (we are reviewing Motivation & Emotion).
now you separate the dough into ten different pieces. don't worry if it deflates, it is not your fault, so don't feel bad. now you can make 10 'sausages' of circa 25 cm each. make them into rings and press the ends together nicely. let them raise for 30 more minutes. now you can do something else exciting for these 30 minutes. i took a shower and chatted briefly with mike.
turn your oven on and put it to 220 degrees celsius.
before putting in your bagelhomies, take a brush and brush them lightly with soya milk. this will make them shiny and happy but if you don't feel like it you don't have to. bake them for around 20 minutes or more, check in on them every 5 minutes after that if you find their consistency unsuitable.

WI FIVE!!!!!!!!

say hi to my bagelhomie, she is a tastyface.

grace slick is probably one of my favourite singers of all time.
she was a model, painter, lyricist, poet, composer, and singer.
she was beautiful and one of the first to popularise acid / psychedelic rock.
she was also one of the first female rock and roll superstars.
she was unapologetic and had a short relationship, completely devoid of any romantic emotion, with jim morrison from the doors, during their european tour in 68.
she also sang at woodstock.
she reminds me so much of rayanne from my so-called life!
grace slick says: keith richard says shave and go home.

who is your favourite forgotten star on the night sky? have you ever heard of grace, or her other bands, The Great Society and Jefferson Airplane, or her most famous songs, White Rabbit, and Somebody To Love?

So I just discovered something marvelous today, and that is the small projects posted by David Hortivz ( They are cute, and small, and take little to know time to do, but most importantly they make you think, So far I've only done one (the only one I can do seeing that it's 5 in the morning and I don't feel like leaving)

(This is the one)

See simple right? I plan on doing more of these in the future, it's a good way of enjoying life... It's also got me thinking, maybe I should start thinking of little projects for myself to do. and maybe hopefully get my friends involved cause I love doing things like this with the people I care about (there are a few on the site that you can do with other people) I'll try to post the ones that involve photographs so you guys can see how they come out. I'm excited really I am :)

Another thing that got me thinking was the artwork of Julien Kedryna (photo above). His abstract drawings are just visually appealing to look at, it just makes me think of small animals, eating equally as cute food on little black hills. and that's how I interpert it... I might do a few pieces in response to his piece and the way I precieve them. I'm growing artistically guys!

Will you do some projects? Will you do them with me? Do you like art? Who are some of your favorite artist?

metal and skin

(warning: stupidly big pictures coming up. thanks blogspot.)

i became obsessed with piercings when i was 12, i think. i wanted a septum more than anyyyything. a couple of years passed but every solstice and birthday, the right to pierce my nose was always on my wishlist (i was cool). then, the obsession turned to labret. and since i was in india, and nearly every local here have a nose piercing, i thought that automatically gave me the right to get a piercing, too... so the dilemma came to either septum or labret, and at the last minute, i decided to pierce my lip.

after a while, a stud got annoying though... so i put in a ring instead. this was most likely a reaction to the fact that everyone was telling me not to get a septum ring and i just wanted to have a ring somewhere, then.

and then came the fateful day where i decided it would be awesome to get another labret and not clean it at all..

(couldn't find non-douchey photo alors voilà)

... resulting in massive swelling and the whole back-side plate eventually growing into my lip. awesome. and then i lost the ball. awesome. so now, i have an ingrown random ass staff sticking out of my lip. but it really isn't noticeable, especially when i changed my ring to this puppy herr:

so why are a lot of people that i know obsessed with piercings? it's a thing you get together around, i gather. i could spend hours just talking about cleaning, horror stories (like my own little metallic lip tumor, for example), things you'd wanna get, things you really wouldn't wanna get, people who really shouldn't have gotten that, and people who really should get that. considering my best friend (below) has a lottt a lot of piercings (i've given up counting, but there's shiz in her face, a lot in her ears, a lot on her body), it's not really surprising i'm pretty into it..

for people who want facial piercings, really, don't listen to your friends. just talk to the piercer. mine said don't touch it (or actually his exact übercreepy words were 'don't be naughty with it') so i didn't, and that worked perfectly the first time. kinda not the second time though (ergo my new rapper name Cancerlip). but this whole super cleaning thing is ridiculous though in my opinion.. if it was done properly you just don't touch it and if anything abnormal (ERGO SUPER SWELLING OF LIP RESULTING IN MASSIVE BACK PLATE THING CONSUMPTION) shows up give your piercer a call, but that's just my opinion.. labrets are gonna be a bitch the first weeks if you choose to get a stud, the ball will fall out, get lost, there'll be a little infection, and your teeth will hurt, but it's worth it if you can deal with it, cause after it has healed, infection is very rare. rings are arguably easier because they can't just chill out whenever they want to. nose piercings and ear piercings tend to get infected a lotttt, but in terms of pain, ear lobes are actually the worst, i've found.

would you ever get piercings? which ones?

Seriously I refuse to conform,

Everyone seems to be on Asher Roth's nuts, like really not gonna lie I like my share of mainstream music, but it all sounds the same to me. But really I LOVE COLLEGE is an awful song. I really don't enjoy listening to it, his raps are rather flat if you ask me AND THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME! But he did do this A Milli free style that was fucking killer...

Out side of this song though, I have no feelings toward him and I'd prefer not to listen to his music, along with the numerous other "artists" emerging from Myspace. How does Asher Roth make you feel? Does his music fill you with as much anger as it fills me with?

Should we be worried?

I mean it seems like Swine Flu is spreading pretty quickly, WHO (World Health Organization) just recently raised the alert of Piggy Flu from 3 to 4, which apparently means we are closer to an Influenza pandemic. Although we aren't quite there stage 4 tells us that there is apparent human-to-human transfer of the virus and that it's able to effect full communities. Mexico is the one who seems to be effected most by the virus with a supposed 149 deaths because of it, only 26 have been confirmed though. The US has 40 confirmed cases of people contracting the virus but a majority (all but one I think) have made full recoveries.

If this isn't what's got you worried maybe it's the fact that Little Boots is making her way into America. I'm not too sure what to think of her, I mean I have had my share of pop (via Kylie Minogue, Annie, etc.) But what of this Little Boots character. I actually do like her though, I just wish I had found her to have made her a little part of me before the rest of the world did. Her songs are simple enough with catchy pop lyrics sung over electro beats, but really guys... this electro vibe is really waring me down. Everyone is doing it, so it's not as fresh as it used to be... you kind of expect everything to have a little bit of an electro undertone. Dunno, when will people start using other instruments? Didgeridoo anyone? Do you think Little Boots will replace Gaga on the pop scene? Or do you think maybe they will do some crazy pop collab? We will see.

Are you serious Popeyes?

You done gone and pissed of the black people.

Thanks Father Time,

I'm so glad this week is finally over, it's been too long and too awful to bear for any longer. Hopefully gonna use this weekend to recover ya? Hope so. The weather is finally nice, supposed to hit 80 something this weekend I think so that should be good. People are actually outside walking on the sidewalks of suburbia... I can see them from my window (I actually look for them, I creep fo'sho).

(photo via It's Blitz Album Cover)

Anyway, I just got the YYYs new CD titled It's Blitz, and it's not awful, by any means, I can say I'll probably listen to it more than once there are definitely some songs that I really like on the album (Skeletons, Dragon Queen, etc.). But there is a bit of disappointment that I feel when listening to this CD, if I had heard that it was maybe some other band that wasn't the Yeah Yeah Yeahs I'd probably like it a lot more, Maybe I just set my expectations to high? I dunno guys. But I miss that Fever to Tell Sound. I just feel like it's lacking something, I don't know what it is, but it's not there, maybe it's just more subtle than I thought it'd be. I dunno. Maybe it'll grow on me? Let's hope so.

I wanna go see them live, would the preformance be weak if I do, should I stop wanting to see them? I think I'll look for tour dates. (They're in Europe guys.)

Peep this amazing piece of artwork by Yuta Onoda,

Guys we are discovering things,

So Astronomers have recently discovered a new exoplanet (that's a planet outside of our solar system guys) and it's the smallest one to date. It's only twice the size of earth which is impressive seeing that the last exoplanet to hold the title of "Smallest Exoplanet" was seven times the size of our planet. The planet resides in the Gliese 581 Solar System which orbits Gilese 581 and the planets are named alphabetically in the order they are discovered (first planet always labeled b, I guess cause the star would be labeled a) dunno. Anyway Gliese 581 e may be considered the first in a new type of planets called Ocean Planets.

I also learned this from BBC cause now I'm obsessed with reading it, and it made me think about how endless the possiblities on our planet actually are, honestly. As a general race human beings have discovered so many amazing things, granted it's only a small fraction of what there is to be discovered, but we have done it, and we continue doing it.

It's crazy to think about guys.

Obama just wants the Middle East to know that we are one Chill ass country,

So in attempt to educate myself about current eventz I took a trip to the BBC, and apparently BARACKSTER has invited Middle Eastern countries: Israel, Egypt, and Palestine to The White Haus for some one-on-one confrontation to show that we mean nothing but "peace in the Middle East". The dates for these iledged visits are yet to be finalized but may, or may not take place sometime in early June.

From the looks of things the Middle East isn't like the idea of Peace over where the live too much. You'd think that once Bush was no longer in office things would change but I guess not, they hate Obama just the same, guess they just have something against Amurrikan government. According to the BBC after Obama's meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan he says he's noticed the cynicism surrounding the concept of peace that the middle-east has. Is it really that bad of a thing to want to work together for the greater gewd? Shouldn't of trewps be coming home? What's going on.

BBC taught me somestuff guys. I want to learn more.

World, I think I'm pregnant...

I have these scary food cravings that I can not cure, my metabolism is pretty high seeing that I have to poop almost instantly after I eat, but I'm afraid that I'm going to grow up to be this 30 year old overweight male that American culture sees fit for judging and not talking to. :(

On a different note, I realized that I now have something interesting to write about, kind of... Well it was interesting for me. My Birthday was pretty much one of the best I have experienced so far, if you know me you've heard it thousands of times but it was AMAZING! I would see Of Montreal live thousands of times again. Probably one of the best shows I've been to in a really long time (It actually got me to dance) Crazy RITE!? Anyway, I'm glad to say that Of Montreal made me a lot happier about being closer to my death (of geez why do I think of it that way?). Anyway that was like 6 days ago, and was probably the only interesting thing that has happened in awhile. I found 30 dollars on the ground that night.

(if this picture had been taken a little more to the left I would've been in it)

i do not like regina spektor

at all.
now this is probably the wrong group of people to say this to...

but oh, how true it is!

i probably have a very mainstream music taste compared to the majority of people who read this or post on here, and i am also very unapologetic about it. i do like alternative stuff, though. i love cocorosie, i love architecture in helsinki, weird japanese techno, friendly fires, los campesinos!, kimya dawson, bright eyes, moldy peaches.. the list goes on, but at the end of the day, it's kanye, my chemical romance, and lady gaga who top my list.

so i like alternative and indie.

but NOT regina spektor.

maybe it's because everyone i know who knows her ADORES every little fricken thing that she does. come on, no artist is all good, all the time... EXCEPT REGINA.
regina spektor fan says: "regina is:
a) ALWAYS ON PERFECT PITCH (even though she barely ever is and that is not a bad thing, Norah Jones does it all the time)
b) always alight with the inner glow of purity
c) a luminous creature of underplayed lyrical genius and light
d) an instrument in her own right, so fuck anything that sounds like it actually was recorded in a proper studio"
now, i suppose that isn't really a fair argument, since it's against her fans, not herself, per se. but it still makes me hate her. cause she inspires this annoyingness in people.

regina spektor, you are not above writing unpretentious lyrics. britney spears feels less fake than you. the pussycat dolls sound more earnest than you, and they don't even write their own fucking songs!

regina spektor, please keep in mind that you are not an 8-year old girl. i know the world is youth-obsessed, but sometimes, it's okay to sound like you're past puberty.

regina spektor, people like dancing (meaning, i like dancing). it is not a crime to include beats and hooks and choruses in a song. no, it will not make you a poseur. it will make me happy is what it will, because for once i can come over to someone's house and not buttrape their dog out of anger once they start playing regina spektor because i cannot outlive my add tendencies by jumping up and down in time with the music, cause your music DOES NOT HAVE TIME! IT IS ABOVE BEING DANCED TO! DIRTY DIRTY DANCING! REGINA SPEKTOR FOR SHARIA LAW '012!

oh hello, i am regina spektor, i steal lyra's hairstyle, have a crack addict face, and am very unlikable in general

wow WoW

i don't know how many of you guys play WoW, or even seen the game before... either way, you will probably appreciate this film noir style WoW video. no speaking, just... nice music.

let it be no secret that i have cried at several WoW videos (do not play the intro of 'Here Without You' by Three Doors Down and look at me with your big brown Tauren eyes ever again). this was one of them.

it's amazing what you can film ingame these days.

wow, and people are right, i really do have too much of an emotional connection with this game...

10 songs that are on my mind,

Like O, Like H, Tegan and Sara
When I was eight I was sure I was growing nerves, like steel in my palms. (this is the demo y'all)

Snake mistakes, Dan Deacon
My dad is so cool, he is the coolest dad in dad school, he does not break any dad rules, he will pick you up if I ask him to.

Up On Your Leopard, Upon the End of Your Feral Days, Sunset Rubdown
You're the one who ran into the wild cause you're the one the wild called. (this is just a random video I found on youtube)

Sea Ghost, The Unicorns
I dove into that freezing sea, with a parasite attached to me, I hoped the salt below would give us what was up above.

Prisoners, Regina Spektor
All of the prisoners, serving life sentences, wait for the earth to suddenly shake, for the walls to somehow come crumbling, tumbling, and for the bars to magically break. (live, which I would KILL to see)

Bird Priest, Ratatat

Alice, Pogo
90% of the sounds from this album were sampled from the movie :)

Unforgettable Season, Cut Copy

Color Bars, Eliott Smith
I see color bars when I come
Werewolf, CocoRosie
In a dream I was a werewolf, my soul was filled with crystal light, lavender ribbons of rain sang, ridding my heart of mortal fright, of mortal fright.

gaga fails in making me gag-gag

terrible titles aside...

What I do is performance art. It's pop music that's meant for the Louvre. -The Queen herself

all it took was bingedrinking in russia to convince me of both 'just dance' and 'pokerface's infesting genius.. and i am stubborn. when it only takes russian borderline alcoholism to give me a revelation of musical genius, whip me with a hot iron, it's a sign.

gaga... she calls herself a lady and looks mostly like a tranny.
so what does this walking mixture of platinum blond wigs and an aversion to pants mean for pop music?
a whole frikken lot.

pop's been dead since britney hopped on the crazy train a couple of years ago. enter (late) kanye, katy perry, enter lily allen. enter gaga. with her batshitcrazy ear for hooks and unapologetically callow lyrics, the lady, and many of these others, haven't exactly revolutionised the genre, but they've certainly revived it and sure as hell helped broaden its demographic.
hipsters take to perry and gaga, fans of indie although hard pressed to admit it probably do like allen, and those more inclined towards r'n'b (which, by the way, is as shitty as ever since r.kelly decided to be gross and usher decided to be crappy) and hiphop still regard kanye as acceptable. then what elevates gaga, armed perhaps with the seemingly most generic and 'pop' attitude of them all, to a league of her own?

of vivid imageries and aversions to pants

Even if you don’t know her current hits — Just Dance and Poker Face (which are, like, beyond catchy) — you know her look. -Times Online

just like bowie was remembered largely because of the makeup, gaga was noticed because of her insane outfits and out-of-control, bordering on illegal, stage performances. she's released five music videos - 'just dance', 'pokerface', 'beautiful, dirty, rich', 'lovegame', 'eh, eh' - and already, she's being hailed as a fashion icon in her own right. the donatella versace in her shines right through and her style spirit is independent, thinking everyone should DIY as much as possible and subscribing to theories alike those of aikiko whom i've posted about before. even more recognisable than her sound is her look, most recently ripped off by Christina Aguilera, and, much like Edie Sedgwick, whether or not lady gaga will be in the public's eye for less or more than ten years, her style will be remembered for a long, long time. it's too distinctive and copy-inspiring not to be.

what the fuck is recession?

consumerism took over the world anyways... joining the cult is the only chance of ever having a voice.
the message is loud and clear. and genius in secessionist times. who doesn't want to forget about money while feeling like the most expensive of hookers? 'beautiful, dirty, rich', 'vanity', 'paparazzi', 'the fame', 'money honey'.. anyone who wanted 'so rich, so pretty' to be played at their funeral (me! meeee!) will keep living thanks to these.

living out the fame

I wrote all the songs — every song! -Miss GaGa

(i'll be looking at the special edition)

having heard 'just dance' and 'pokerface', you nearly don't need a description of lady gaga's style.. gaga continues her dirty-mouthing sweet-sounding 80's synth-pop trip on nearly all of her fast tracks, donning a more island sound on her slower ones, especially 'eh eh' and 'summerboy'. it's all heavily produced, nearly reaching the saturation point, but gaga proves several times that she actually can hold a note, on for example 'again again', 'shake your kitty', 'brown eyes', and 'vanity', though you're hard pressed to guess how much unnoticeable auto-tune has actually been used.
the lyrics are, admittedly, the weaker points of the album, with embarrassments such as the hook on 'LoveGame': "let's have some fun, this beat is sick / i wanna take a ride on your disco stick". the Kelvin Nicolas Dirrty Edit, however, makes these lines' cringe-worthy effects far less abrasive than the original version. but one really gets the sense that gaga intended the lyrics not to stand out too much; dancefloors become boring if people stop writhing in order to ponder lyrics, her opinion seems to be.
especially 'shake your kitty', 'starstruck', 'paparazzi', and 'again again' stand out among the many destined radio hits on the disc.. the idea is thoroughly tedious, but every one of the disc's tracks could easily be turned into a single.
tedious because however catchy they are, gaga's ultimate strength, hooks, try too much to outshine each other, when her true strength lies, in fact, in the verses. 'starstruck', for example, thoroughly disappoints in the chorus, betraying its genius verses. it's a shame.. if not for the overly repetitive chorus, 'starstruck' would without a doubt be the next 'just dance'. one can suspect the repetitiveness is merely there for the easier memorability, but songs like 'right round' by flo rida and keisha prove that melodically, a hook can be memorable and quite complex at the same time. lady gaga should keep that in mind.

and on a completely unrelated note, king kanye himself sampled gaga's acoustic version of pokerface, retitling it "i poke her face".. shit, i knew there was a reason i loved that man.

When stepping out from behind the effects, Lady GaGa -- who wrote, produced and performed most of the record -- unveils surprisingly powerful pipes. -Rhapsody Online

The Fame, though its faults, is a must-listen for 08/09. if you haven't already done so, buy the special edition right now.. if for no other reason than to learn the lyrics before the rest of the country.
all there's left to say? CHERRY CHERRY BOOM BOOM, bitches.

808s And Heartbreak: Lyra's perspective :)

well, he himself calls it 'pop art' - i guess that pretty much lays out the foundation for a major round of bashing to mr. west from his fanbase. add to that a huge lyrical and melodic departure from his previous work, and one could assume kanye was just begging for bashing, and maybe he is, but whether it's a deliberate provocation or not, i think 808s And Heartbreak is a giant leap for the rapper with if not the biggest hip hop cred, then the biggest fashion cred, in the industry.

yet another five reasons i love weezy baby

(this is what happens when a) as usual my lil wayne obsession gets out of control due to 'Prostitute 2) b) i forget to not be boring and c) mike forgets my phone number whilst in america. you have been warned)

mmmm... weezy baby.

now, for most of yall, it is definitely not a secret fact that i love me some little wayne. now, seeing that most of my other favourite bands lie more in the direction of korn, slipknot, nirvana, the kills, nightwish, opeth, et cetera, this might seem odd... but i assure you, love, when it comes to love for little wayne, is based on pure logic. ergo, it is only natural to love him.
seeing as my fashion hodom is quite big, this post will focus mainly on the crazy creative ways of lil wayne dressing. for of course they are crazy creative.

exhibit one!

please, someone tell me. why is this person so attractive.
un. a lip ring. a lippp rinngggg. originality! so much!!
deux. that hat! so not just for ne-yo anymore! yay!
trois. wayfarers on steroids. anyone not outta an ironic collective in brooklyn would not be wearing these. but weezy does. he just pumps sufficient steroids into them in order for them to be badass enough for him. THEIR FACE!
additionally, we here see the top of a white v neck. weezy baby has been known for rocking these semi-AA creatures time and time again. timeless, classy, brilliant? i think so. on top of everyone else, baby.

exhibit two!

yes, mr carter might be a bamf, but homeboy knows how to dress for nana's tea party. there ain't no party like weezy's nana's tea party. we see some none-hanging around his ankles jeans, nice checkered vans, very lowkey hein?, and then BAM a burberry scarf. now, they might not be that original, but they are warm and comfy and fits quite well into the outfit with his hair tied back. ahhh. such a gentleman. all he needs is a six pence and a banjo and flogging molly can quit their jobs already :) or some jazz shoes! awww, imagine that with some jazz shoes! yes, he is that good. he could totally rock them jazz shoes.

exhibit trois!

even the pose.
here, we see an invisible beard grabber - strategically performed to show weezy baby's aggressively intellectual side. did you know he had straight a's in school? that's right. katie couric told me. no joke, youtube that shit.
so, besides the body language here, two things we shall take note of: one, ze hairs, and two, ze tattoos. the permanent to semi-permanent parts of appearance. that's right, the genius doesn't stop at removable items.
long hair on a rapper is rare enough, but long dread locked hair? mother may i! mr dwayne le third knows the pure utilitarian value of dreadlocked. my father 'The Lightning' himself actually tried smoking one once. i don't know if it worked, but clearly that is an awesome party memory. weezy got a head full of them. that's so many awesome party memories just waiting to happen. that's charity.
and the tattoos. very nice. i'm sure he'll get one with my name once mike and i rape his concert at roskilde :)

exhibit four!

is it a vest? a tee? it's a trompe d'oeil, beetses! the fashion collective Blood Is The New Black brought in lil weezy for designing a lil somefin for them and this is what he came up with. i would wear that. i am very selective (except when it comes to shiny stuff and shooort shoooorttss). ergo, this is good janx. so now. punky. edgy. and he supports the industry too, BITNB are so small! fuck recession. denmark doesn't have a word for recession. that basically means it is not a legitimate concept. please go spend 40 dollars on this instead of crappy eyeliner at hot topic! please!
(karl lagerfeld's wee head is even on the back)
(lil wayne even wears it on the Hot Revolver cover, see?)

exhibit five!

do you see this?! this is an ironic pose!!! 15 cms above a v neck shirt!! that's right mesdames et messieurs, should weezy baby ever wish to retire, that's one more job option for his sexiness: hipster icon. hipsters love black people anyways.

photo credit: google images thank youuu

face it fashionistas, we're living in wayne's world nowwww <3

Word on the street is Miyazaki is planning his next film, says that Studio Ghibli Producer Toshio Suzuki mentioned something rather about Miyazaki's planning. Unfortunately, when Suzuki announced this on Ghibli Asemamire Radio Talk Show aired on Tokyo FM, he stated that Miyazaki had not given him all the information of his next project.

He says that Miyazaki has been reading into an old Japanese tale about Sumo-Wrestling mice (cute huh?). I personally was hoping for a more mature Miyazaki Movie, but it seems the older Mr. Hayao gets... the more innocent his movies become.

Mayizaki said at the Vince film festival last August, that the next full-lengthed movie he oversees will not be for another 3 years (making it roughly 2 and a half seeing as though we are in a new year).

We can also expect a behind the scenes documentary for the making of Ponyo Miyazaki's latest creation. Said documentary, I think is still in production... Seeing as though I'm an zealous Miyazaki fan I will be sure to keep the blog updated if I learn anything new.

Welcome to Heartbreak,

KANYE WEST "Welcome To Heartbreak" Directed by Nabil from nabil elderkin on Vimeo.

Not exactly my favorite song, but Kanye's videos are always alright, in my opinion, it's lyrically a little weak, but music videos are fun to watch, this one in particular, the editing is so clever, and despite the cocky attitude I love me some Kanye.

Floating Cities,

FLOOD TEASER from flood movie on Vimeo.

"The Swimming Cities of Serenissima is a fleet of three intricately hand crafted vessels that will navigate the Adriatic Sea from the Karst region of Slovenia to Venice, Italy in May of 2009. Designed by the visual artist SWOON, the floating sculptures are descendants of theSwimming Cities of Switchback Sea (Hudson River, 2008) and the Miss Rockaway Armada (Mississippi River, 2006 and 2007)."

On the journey the artists involved in the project will be collecting random keepsakes they find along the way in a cabinet on the boats that will be put on display once they reach Venice, also the artist will be offering small performances that include music, and shadow puppetry... Who doesn't love some good shadow puppets?

There will be a benefit art exhibition in NYC in order to provide funding, of course, I won't be there... although I would love to be. The show will be MARCH 5-9 2009... and if you, like myself , can not make it. Todd Chandler has shot a short film called FLOOD (See above video) aboard the vessels. The short film is currently under production.

So, lately the subject of beauty has come up a lot. I don't know why but it seems to be following, we even started studying it in psyche class. It's odd... First of all, there is away to define true beauty, it was discovered by Pythagroas, and he says that key to beauty is 1:1.681 or "The Divine Ratio", he said that people who are proportioned closer to the Divine Ratio are usually considered more beautiful.

The whole concept of beauty/attractiveness is very primitive of course it seems reasonable that we favor healthier younger looking people, and we tend to like people with similar faces to those of babies (babies have very proportional faces) big eyes, full lips, but with the facial structure of an adult, cheek bones, defined jaw, etc... We tend to like clearer skin and unconsciously we are taught to associate bad skin or facial deformities to bad people. Hence the reason people use make up. In the end we are constantly advertising our selves for sex, and mating, and finding a partner. Women want men who look like they can protect and raise a family. Men tend to go after women who look fertile, young, and able to bear children, or at least that's the impression I get.

It kind of interesting to thing about... and then it raises the question, Well what about homosexuality?
Is that where personal preference come into play? Or is there still some sort of science behind it... Hmmmm.

Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea,

Ponyo is a fish, Ponyo's parents are the rulers of the sea, after getting stuck in a jar in her sea (which is becoming quite polluted) Ponyo is saved by Sosuke. Sosuke breaks the jar, and begins to bleed, attracted to the sent of his blood Ponyo tastes it, thus becoming a mermaid. Ponyo likes ham and tea. Ponyo would like to be a real girl... She tries really hard and suddenly grows arms and legs...

I don't wanna give away too much. But Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea, is essentially Hayao Miyazaki's version of The Little Mermaid. It is a story about a boy who finds a fish and decides to keep it as a pet, when the boy is cut rescuing the fish it gets a taste of human blood thus making it a mermaid.
Soon the boy discovers that the fish can talk (as kind of a side effect to the whole mermaid thing I think). Ponyo now desires to be a human, and slowly begins to transform into one. In order to become a full human, Sosuke has to be deemed a faithful boy who will never leave Ponyo's side.

The movie has very strong enviormental influence as most of Miyazaki's movies do, and there is a small Nature v. Man conflict that isn't focused on much, but is definietly there... (Ponyo's father hates the humans and thinks they are disgusting and vile) after all they are polluting his waters.

This movie is heartfelt, and warm, and makes you wanna cry sometimes with the amount of happiness in it. All in all really good for the entire family.

I'm so excited for the release of this movie, It's going to be crazy insane for those who know what's going on it will be a wonderful experience seeing this graphic novel brought to life, for those of you who don't you are in for some major surprises, I won't say anything about the plot except for that it's amazing.
The film is set to be released on March 6... BUT for the fans of the graphic novel (SUCH AS MYSELF) There is something I'm really excited for. TALES OF THE BLACK FREIGHTER! It's being released as a driect-to-video film and it's going to be intense.

For those of you that don't know, Tales of the Black Freighter was a graphic novel inside the novel that was correlated to the plot of the story. It's about a man who is stranded on a dessert island after being attacked by a ship called the black freighter, everyone in his crew dies except for him. The entire story is about this man trying to get off the island, he goes crazy, buries his dead men, then digs them back up to construct a raft from their dead bodies, so on and so forth.

Gonna be intense. CAN'T WAIT Tales of the Black Freighter will be released March 24.

Black Freighter will be animated, and was going to be included in the watchmen movie itself but had to be cut out due to budget restrictions, Synder is talking of releasing the DVD for watchmen 4months after the Freighter and is considering including the animated film in the Movie as it was intended. This will bring the running time of the movie to 3hr25min. Ha! that's extreme.

we have shows in india, too

so basically, if you ever get the chance to see Opeth in concert, DO IT

(here goes a vaarry nice video once i upload it to youtube)

the proud achievements:
-stood in between 3000 sweaty people (and out of all of them, we were two whitie chicks!) and contracted about as many STDs
-fought and clawed, no lie, our way wayyy in front until we were in front of the cameras and for the last five numbers, i was against the fence, getting impregnated by at least five unknown people around me!
-watched my father, also known as 'THE LIGHTNING', jump and mosh the best his 55-year-old body managed to. he's such a cutie.
-managed to find Felix and Mike by me climbing on top of Sam and waving my arms frantically... the camera thought i was waving at it and boom baby, lyra on sam was blasted to the entire audience! ..... WHY didn't i take pictures?! the view was awesome but the guards were being party poopers, flippin their shit.
-pushmoshed to the best of our noobish ability, with only one out of all seven managing to shed blood.. 1 cm broad skin rip on hand awesomeness GO ! (sam managed to rub it on his shirt, however, which he probably will never wash cause now there's mosh blood on it) someone punched me in the nose with their shoulder though. i'm embarrassingly sad it didn't bleed.
-managed to get hand-heart sign on the screen. i was celebrity of the fucking evening.
-mike also actually managed to get so close to this sikh guy, he was actually IN him. there goes virginity.

My drawings are bad

I'm getting discouraged.

Artistic realizations,

I've realized a few things artistically about myself.

1.) The more I try to portray emotion in my drawings... the more emotionless they get.
2.) I have trouble defining a drawing style myself, mainly because it changes very frequently.
3.) I've drawn so many portraits to the point where I've forgotten how to draw the human figure.
4.) I should really start drawing from life if i want to progress any futher.
5.) I need to be more observant when drawing.
6.) I'm quite good at sculpting... Better than I'd thought I was.

Those things being said: I hope my sculpting helps me with my drawing, and I hope my drawing improves.

I'm glad I'm taking 3-D art this year...
